Lighting is how a front-yard haunt tells time. A soft wash for the opening, a sudden shift when the beat drops, a color change that makes the whole lawn feel like it inhaled — those moments are what Cue is for.
At the Beguiling Burbank Voodoo House, the Cue controller shapes what they see: which parts of the yard glow, when a light flickers on, and how that light rides along with the music so the display feels directed instead of random.
It is less about flipping switches by hand and more about hitting marks. When a lighting change lands on the right beat, the yard stops looking like decorations with bulbs attached and starts looking like a performance. That reliability matters when the same show has to land for every passerby who stops to watch.
Together with Conductor and Animator, Cue is the visual half of the Hoodoo FX rhythm: light that belongs to the story, timed for a street-facing Halloween night that neighbors remember.
